Creativity
Is creativity important? Yes!
Creativity is how we explore the world and solve problems. DVS Kids courses use a hands-on, in-person curriculum designed to minimize screen time, develop skills, and boost creative thinking.
I have no pre-cut, pre-designed craft projects. DVS Kids are given creative problems to solve in their own unique ways.
Development
Here are some ways DVS Kids can benefit from my courses and method of teaching:
self esteem and confidence - developing fine motor skills - internal and external observation skills - developing individual style - learning to use inspiration - positive interpersonal skills - minimizing electronic dependency - increasing focus and attention - engaging in real life processes - learning the value of community

Variety
We do more than paint and draw.
DVS Kids are exposed to a variety of 2D and 3D media, and different methods and techniques of the creative process. The fundamentals of design are not just taught, they're incorporated into different projects that teach concepts by applying them.
Space
A classroom inside a professional studio.
DVS Kids get the opportunity to work in a real art and design studio with a professional creative. It's an opportunity to be immersed in a creative, inspirational work space, complete with a little library of art books to inspire and pique curiosity.

Tools
The right tools matter!
If we expect our kids to excel, we have to give them the right tools to use. DVS Kids will get the chance to learn and use different media and tools. How many kinds of lead pencils are there? What are different kinds of paper good for? I instruct technical knowledge to teach process while we work and use proper tools and materials.
Guidance
"Education is an atmosphere, a discipline, a life"
— Charlotte Mason
I give DVS Kids problems to solve and guide them through the process of creating solutions. My goal with each project in my courses is to see completely different solutions from each student, and the way I do that is by teaching creativity through art and design with the whole child in mind.
